Jesus told Peter to put away his sward after he cut off an ear. I believe it would have been right down the middle of the man's head had he not reacted and deflected...but that's just me. However, Jesus had to fix a situation that would not have occurred had they continued to walk in love and faith. Jesus then said, live by the sword die by he sword. Are we willing to take someone's life to save our own - is the main question. Where does the Lord tell us to use force to protect a flock or ourselves or be willing to take a life to save our own? He gave His life....didn't he?

There is a need for our churches, leadership & pastors to be aware of the risks & needs for safety & security in their facilities today. Yet far too many churches, private schools & ministries are not ready for problems. I believe God calls us to be Good Shepherds & Good Stewards to the flock that He guides and provides and the facilities, members and guests that He calls to us there. I would hope that the church is a place of safety and security by being aware of the need to be ready and ready as His Word proclaims, for we don’t know the day or hour of His return. We live in a world of hate, terror & evil acts against His church. Only by being aware of the risk & dangers & having a Plan & Teams to implement the Plan can we be ready to protect His flock & the assets He has provided for us to use to serve Him & His people. “Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the flock of God… be on your guard. Acts 20: 28-31

The best way is to establish a church security team, have them trained in different aspects of Protection. Emergency first aid, unarmed combat, pressure points and restraints. These are trying times and people are over the edge. It could be on of your faithful member how decides to take a life or their own.
