Will It Be a Safe Mission Trip?
Planning a safe mission trip involves forethought. Make sure you give yourself enough time to think through all of the details and plan for medical or legal emergencies. Use this checklist to help you remember some of the details that can help preserve your team’s safety on a short-term mission trip.

Have we investigated the regulations and safety procedures needed for travel outside of the United States?

Do we always check with our insurance agent before taking a mission trip to address coverage issues?

Do we always screen the staff and volunteers who will be accompanying minors on the trip? Background screens typically include an application, reference checks and a criminal history review.

Do we always make sure there is adequate supervision, especially when minors are involved?

Are all of the members of our group physically capable of handling the demands of mission travel?

Do our travelers have all of the vaccinations required for the country to which they are traveling?
